It is with great sadness that I report that my father James Briscoe Newton has made his transition to the afterlife on March 13, 2024. He passed peacefully at home. My many thanks to anyone and everyone who sent him distance healing for alll of his ailments you have all been wonderful and the healing’s were working well for him.
James Briscoe Newton, was the Loving father of Derek J. Newton and the Husband to to Consuella C. Newton. In November of 1955 he married my mother Consuella C. Newton
He was a graduate of Douglas High School in Baltimore Maryland, and a graduate of Morgan State University with B.S. in Military Science. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Si Fraternity in Maryland.
He enlisted in the Army in 1957 and became a private first class, stationed as an Army medic and was honorably discharged in November of 1961. In the early 70’s he received employment at Amoco Oil Company as a Product Engineer and continued to work for them until his retirement in early 80’s
In his spare time he like to make cosmetics and soaps in the house and watch TV (Netflix) and eat his favorite foods. He Loved flashlights and electronic gadgets of all kinds His favorite pastime was connecting with the neighbors at his home and neighbor’s homes to play monthly poker games and connect people together for fun and enjoyment. He was a fantastic supporter of the Integrated Awareness Graduates needs and functions at the hotel conferences that were the highlight of his life.
He will always be remembered for his kindness and fair treatment of others. He was a great loving father to me and taught me how to fish, ride a bike, and treat others with kindness and respect. We took family trips together with my fondest memories going to Disney World.
Sad to say that I don’t have a lot of info on my dad as he was a solitary man and didn’t talk much about himself or college buddies. He always loved the I.A. Students and could remember most of your names and thought about you throughout his life. He used to take all of the class pictures and hand write all the certificates for everyone and kept track of the I.A. list for everyone, he was always gracious and helped out everyone who called on the phone
God’s speed my friend we all will miss you dearly.
